Description
Among Coweta 19th Century citizens were the Pucketts of Newnan, shown in these photographs. The children on the right are John O. Puckett, born in 1885. They were bth born in Newnan, and their father and mother, Columbus and Sallie Puckett, in the photo at left, had a farm on East Broad Extension. John Puckett was a mailman in Coweta County for 49 and a half years. He retired shortly before he died in 1956. Ramola Puckett died in 1963. She never married and lived with John Puckett in a house on Spring Stree. Columbus Puckett was a farmer, and after he died in 1937 his wife sold the farm and moved to a house on Spring Street where she lived until her death in 1945. A pin Sallie Puckett is wearing appears to be a picture of her husband. Sallie Puckett is the daughter for Elias and Elizabeth Summers, whose picture appears in the "Coweta-County Chronicles" on page 782.
