SARGENT SCHOOL

This group photograph, provided by Thomas H. Holeman was made at Sargent School about 1920. Mr. Holeman was able to recognize some of those pictured. On the back row at center are, from left, teachers Maggie Newton and Hattie Bridges, Principal Lillian Greene, teacher Pansy Smith and possibly Elmeda Kinnard. Standing on the back row to the right of the right post is Mr. Holeman in his youth. Among those next to Holeman are Retha Bridges, Eloise Murphy and Johnny Smith; and in front of Holeman are Dean Bridges, Mattie Sue Bridges, possibly Ruby Copeland, one unknown, Hewlette Murphy, Irene Allen and Annie Lou McBurnett. Fannie Lou Allen is third from right on the row below Holeman, and at end right is Louise Allen. On the back row at far left are, from left, Joe Copeland, unknown, Amos Murphy, Earnest Strovel, Oliver Gentry and Ollie Knott. In front of Oliver Gentry is Elsie Hicks.
