Description
This is the second of two group photos provided by Lena Latimer Murphy (Mrs. Hewlette C. Murphy), showing the old A.J. "Berry" Murphy home place. A picture of the family in the 1940s was published November 10, 1987. The home, still standing, is on Wager's Mill Road. In the scene from about 1912 are, from left, front Seaborn "Seab" Murphy (father of A.J. "Berry" Murphy), A.J. "Berry" Murphy, Mrs. A.J. Murphy (Etna Carter Murphy), A.B. "Buford" Murphy and H.C. "Hewlette" Murphy. In back are B.G. "Glenn" Murphy, A.I. "Alton" Murphy, Eloise Murphy, Lillian Murphy (Mrs. Arthur Story) and W.A. "Amos" Murphy. this scene shows the original roof of the home. A wide porch was added later.
