Grantville High Class of 1931
Description
These young people are gathered for their graduation from Grantville High School in 1931. In the photo provided by Edna Jackson are, from left, Thelma Plant, Ruth Jeter, Harry Jackson, Doris Johnson, Harold Holloway, Rebecca Brasch and Elizabeth Sewell. Mrs. Jackson said she remembers attending the second Grantville School building that was built in 1910 and that she finished at the building constructed in 1937 (renamed the Thomas Glanton School in the 1980s and now used as offices by West Georgia Regional Education Services Agency). The cornerstone was taken from the 1910 structure, and the bricks were used to build Grantville Brown school, she said.
