Description
Newnan's Centennial Parade in 1927 was the occassion. Adorning a float representing Boone's Department Store (which was located in the Belk building) are, left to right, Emily Johnson (Mrs. Cliff Matthews of Houston, Texas), Emory Caldwell, the late Emily Amis (Mrs. Howard Burch), Elsie Ragland (Mrs. Lorenga Taylor of Newnan), Lavonia Cranford Gibson, Catherine Sanders (Mrs. Harold Barron), Murray Duncan and Lyda Hardaway (Mrs. Willis Nolan of East Point). Watching the parade are the late Mrs. Emily P. Cranford, standing in the street, and, left to right on the sidewalk, the late Tim Cranford, the late D.W. Boone, Sr., the late Mrs. Paul Pittman, Winn Vineyard and the late Charlie Summers.
