The Newnan-Coweta Historical Society believes that museums can be exciting places for persons of every age and background. We continue to develop ever-changing exhibits telling the story of Newnan and Coweta County and the West Georgia Region at our McRitchie-Hollis Museum and the Historic Newnan Train Depot. For more information regarding our events and exhibitions, please visit our home page at www.newnancowetahistoricalsociety.com
The Newnan-Coweta Historical Society interprets and preserves the historical, cultural and architectural heritage of Coweta County through programs, exhibitions and collections while serving, engaging and educating the diverse communities of Coweta County and the surrounding region.
Over the years, NCHS has collected historical photographs and oral histories which chronicles the ever changing landscape of our county and provides insight into the daily lives of local citizens. In the Summer of 2016, with the help of a University of Georgia Graduate Assistant, we were able to create this site in order the share the history digitally. We encourage you to explore and share this site with your friends and family as we remember days gone by. All photographs and oral histories found here are available for purchase using the identifying number located at the bottom of each entry.
