Our Mission:

The Newnan-Coweta History Center interprets and preserves the historical, cultural and architectural heritage of Coweta County through programs, exhibitions and collections while serving, engaging and educating the diverse communities of Coweta County and the surrounding region.

This Site:

Over the years, NCHC (formerly Newnan-Coweta Historical Society) has collected historical photographs and oral histories which chronicles the ever-changing landscape of our county and provides insight into the daily lives of local citizens. In the Summer of 2016, with the help of a University of Georgia Graduate Assistant, we were able to create this site in order the share the history digitally. We encourage you to explore and share this site with your friends and family as we remember days gone by. All photographs and oral histories found here are available for purchase using the identifying number located at the bottom of each entry.
