Description
These youngsters are sixth and seventh grade student at the Sargent School in 1924-25. The village of Sargent is west of Newnan out Georgia Highway 16. Their teacher was Miss Josie Smith, and the principal was Miss Green. In this photo are, from left, front, Brittain Wicher, Hoyt Warren, Vernerd Cruis (or possibly Vernerd Sewell), Garland Wicher, Robert Witcher, Ray Stevens, Delbert Smith and Faye Bridges; second row, Penn Newton, Frank Bridges, Catherine Carter, Catherine Sewell, Nannie Sue Phillips, Edna Ward, Elizabeth Sewell, Alma Pannell and Edna Bailey; back, Rosa Lee Morris, Edna Holeman, Christle Cook, Maude Smith, Tom Gordon, Penson Morris, Flora May, Mary Elizabeth Elliott and Nina Smith.
