William Miller and his sons

Description

In this photo from Artie Storey are her husband Tom Storey's great-grandfather and four of his children. In the center is William Henry Bryson Miller, born February 8, 1860 in Dekalb County, Ga., son of Captain (CSA) William Andrew Calhoun and Elizabeth A. McDonald Miller. The young men are sons by his first wide, Nannie Elizabeth Jane Carmical, whom he married July 25, 1878. William Henry, a carpenter and farmer, lived until 1943. This picture was probably taken in the period shortly before the 1920's. He married three more times after the death of Nannie in 1903. The young men are Bud (Burt M.) Miller, front left, born April 1888 who married Ruth Welch; William Robert (Bob) Miller, front right, born November 1879 and married Sudie Alma Montgomery in November 190; Sam Hill Miller, back left, born August 1893 and married Clara Smith in March 1914; and John Henry Miller, back right, born July 1881 moved to Memphis, Tenn., and married Evelyn Conley. Sam and two of his sisters (Sara Elizabeth) and Nannie Sue, were born in a house called the Hill Place (the Sam Hill Peach Orchard) at Five Points near East Newnan. Other children were Fannie Kate Miller, Mamie (Mary Love) Miller, Willie Clyde Miller and James (who died in infancy). Nannie Miller Washington is Tom Storey's maternal grandmother, who married Ribert Pinkton "Pink" Washington - their daughter Lillian Frances Washington married Lemuel Storey, and Tom is their son. Sallie (Sarah Elizabeth Miller Bailey), now 89, is still living.
